Bidean nam Bian

A classic Glencoe walk of Bidean nam Bian and the Lost Valley

Start Time: 08:00 for and 08:15 start

Location: Glencoe, Lost Valley car park

Walk Grading: Level 4 walk. Find out more about our walk grading here.

Terrain: There are some steep and rocky ascents, with easy, mild scrambling. The descent into the Lost Valley is also steep and loose.

Requirements: Regular hill walking experience on higher hills like Scottish Munros (above 3,000ft).

Join us for a guided walk of Bidean nam Bian and the Lost Valley

This stunning walk combines two Munros, and a return via the Lost Valley of Clencoe. Bidean nam Bian (Peak of the Mountains) is appropriately names as it’s the highest peak in the area, offering superb views in good weather. Historically the valley was allegedly used by Clan MacDonald to hide stolen cattle. The remote, concealed basin was also used as a shelter during the 1692 Massacre of Glencoe. This walk is highly rewarding, affording dramatic and beautiful scenery.
