Locations: Our scheduled dark sky experiences take place at carefully chosen locations in and around the Cairngorms, including Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve and Loch Muick on the Balmoral Estate. Private experiences can also be arranged at other suitable locations.

Discover the Cairngorms After Dark

Away from the lights of Scotland’s towns and cities, the Cairngorms offer a wonderful setting for exploring the outdoors after dark. Your guide will help you discover the night sky and the landscape around you, with each experience shaped by the conditions on the night.

Your guide will help you find your way around the night sky, identify constellations and planets, and discover some of the stories and science behind what we see above us. When conditions allow, binoculars and laser pointers help bring the night sky to life.
