🏔️ Saturday – Ben More & Stob Binnein
We begin the weekend with a true big-hill classic. From near Ben More Farm, we make a steady but sustained ascent onto the broad upper slopes of Ben More, gaining height quickly as views open across Strath Fillan and west toward the Argyll hills. The summit delivers one of the great viewpoints of the Southern Highlands.
From here, we follow the beautifully defined high ridge to Stob Binnein, one of the finest ridge traverses in the area. The character of the terrain changes as the ridge narrows and steepens on either side, culminating in the elegant summit of Stob Binnein with dramatic views into the Braes of Balquhidder.
We descend via the saddle into Benmore Glen, completing a magnificent big-mountain circuit and a superb opening day to the weekend.
🏔️ Sunday – Cruach Ardrain & Beinn Tulaichean
Day two begins from the head of Glen Inverlochlarig, with an initial steady climb onto the elegant ridges of Beinn Tulaichean. This shapely Munro rises gradually at first before steepening toward the summit, with fine views opening across the tops and towards the Crianlarich hills.
From the summit of Beinn Tulaichean, we descend to the bealach before making the second climb of the day onto Cruach Ardrain. This broad, powerful mountain provides a fitting finale to the weekend, with expansive views across Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, Glen Falloch, and toward the Argyll hills.
A scenic descent returns us to Glen Inverlochlarig, rounding off a perfectly balanced second day and an outstanding Crianlarich Munros Weekend.
