Braeriach

One of the finest mountains in the Cairngorms National Park


Start Time: 08:15 for 08:30 start.

Location: Aviemore, meet at the the Sugar Bowl car park.

Walk Grading: Level 4 walk. Find out more about our walk grading here.

Terrain: The walk passess through the impressive Chalamain Gap, a short boulder ravine which connects the Lairig Ghru with Glenmore. Apart from this short section, the route is mostly on good tracks to the summit.

Requirements: Regular hill walking experience on higher hills like Scottish Munros (above 3,000ft).

Braeriach is Scotland’s 3rd highest Munro, situated in the Cairngorms National Park. It offers some of the best views in the Cairngorms, including a fine view of the Lairig Ghru. You will have the opportunity to get up close to the impressive Garbh Choire Mor which hosts the longest lying snow patches in Scotland.
