BIKE AND HIKE - MAOILE LUNNDAIDH
Join us for a superb bike-and-hike adventure to Maoile Lunndaidh — a remote and rewarding Munro which we’re approaching from the quiet settlement of Craig in Glen Carron.
By using bikes to cover the estate tracks, we turn what would be a very long walk into a challenging but efficient and highly satisfying mountain day in the heart of the Northwest Highlands.
This is a classic wilderness outing: long glens, wide horizons, and one of the most isolated-feeling Munros in Scotland.
This mountain day includes:
Maoile Lunndaidh (1,005 m) – the bare rounded hill – a broad, domed Cairngorm-esque Munro with expansive views over Glen Carron, Loch Monar, and the distant Torridon mountains.
Expect solitude, scale, and a true sense of wilderness.

🏔️ Route Overview
We start in Craig, cycling south east mainly uphill, along estate tracks that lead deep into the wild interior above Glen Carron. Leaving the bikes at an appropriate point, we begin the hike, climbing steadily toward the broad upper slopes of Maoile Lunndaidh.
The summit area is open and expansive, with a powerful feeling of isolation. On a clear day, views stretch across Loch Monar, the Torridon peaks, and far into the Affric hills — a panorama that truly rewards the effort of getting here.
After time on the summit, we descend back toward the glen, rejoining our bikes for an enjoyable cycle back out to Craig, completing a full and memorable journey through some of Scotland’s wildest terrain.
