🏔️ Route Overview

We begin near the entrance to Cruachan Power Station, one of Scotland’s most remarkable engineering projects, before walking steeply up the southern ridge of Ben Cruachan. The ascent is exciting and dramatic, with Loch Awe opening up beneath and a rugged ridge rising ahead.

From the summit dome of Ben Cruachan, the route follows a stunning ridgeline that curves around the head of Coire Caorach, before rising again to the second Munro, Stob Daimh. The views from here are outstanding, stretching across the mountains of Lorn, out to the islands, and deep into the Etive and Glen Orchy hills.

We descend via the long, graceful ridge of Stob Garbh, completing an unforgettable classic round.
