About the trip
Join Hillgoers for a guided ascent of Beinn a’ Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich — a superb high-level ridge walk above Loch Awe in the Southern Highlands. These two neighbouring Munros rise sharply from the head of Loch Awe and form a classic route with outstanding views across Ben Cruachan, Loch Etive a and Glen Coe peaks.
This walk features:
Beinn a’ Chochuill (980 m) - The Hill of the Shell
Beinn Eunaich (989 m) - The Fowling Hill
Expect a satisfying mix of steady climbs, airy ridges, and wide summits that deliver a real sense of height and space.

Start/Finish: Layby parking on the B8077 just beside Allt Mhoille, turning off A85 near Lochawe.
Distance: Approx. 13.3 km / 8 miles
Ascent: Around 1,200 m

🏔️ Route Overview
Begin with a straightforward but sustained ascent of Beinn Eunaich, gaining height quickly and opening up dramatic views. A broad ridge then leads to the neighbouring summit of Beinn a’ Chochuill, with fantastic views down to Loch Etive.
This is a superb day for those who love high, open ridgelines and dramatic west-coast landscapes.
