Hillgoers guided hiking in Scotland

Discover what makes us a great option for your adventures

  • Hillgoers offer guided hikes throughout Scotland. Our team of qualified Mountain Leaders usually live close to the location of our guided trips, meaning they have the local knowledge of the area. All our experienced team members share a passion for the mountains and nature within and love to pass on their knowledge of the hills to you.

There are so many stunning walks in Scotland, from Munros, which are mountains above 3,000ft, to coastal trails. We plan a mix of events throughout the year and very much welcome requests for walks, so please get in touch to discuss the perfect trip.

If you are looking for a hiking holiday in Scotland we can help you plan a multiday trip using our recommended accommodation options or even supply you with all the wild camping equipment you might need too. Whatever your hiking trip plans are, we have you covered!

  • Let us help you explore Scotland’s wonderful landscape, wildlife, and nature. Join us on a planned event or book your own bespoke walk or multiday trek into the wild.

We have planned events along our beautiful coastline or up to one, or all, of our 282 Munros.

If Munro bagging is your passion we are here to help, you can join a planned event or book a private day. We have small group sizes, usually 6-7 participants, less on more technical walks involving scrambling or rope work. We do this to limit our environmental impact, properly manage your safety and to provide you with the best experience possible and time with the guide. Groups of friends, charity or corporate events can be in larger team sizes, depending on location, if you choose to raise money for a charity or donate to Mountain Rescue. Walks can last from a few hours to multi-day including camping out under the stars.

    • Our guides, we only hire the best!

    • Experienced - we choose guides with both mountain experience but also life experience. We have a wide selection of guides from all walks of life from ex-military to members of Mountain Rescue to qualified doctors.

    • Professional - all of our guides are fully qualified holding the relevant qualification for the activity and season - Summer Mountain Leader, Winter Mountain Leader, Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and more.

    • We take your safety seriously,

      • First aid qualified - all guides hold at least an Outdoor First Aid Certificate.

      • Appropriately sized groups - usually 6-7, less for more technical trips.

      • Emergency contact - when running an event we always have someone at our ‘Base Camp’ in case of an emergency.

      • Group emergency kit - your guide will carry at least a group shelter and group first aid.

      • We’re all fully qualified, insured and members of the Mountain Training Association meaning our skills are kept up to date. We are also holders of Adventure Activities Licence, inspected by the UK Health and Safety Executive.

    • Transport - we can provide minibus transport dependent on availability.

    • Kit - we can provide certain kit if required - tents, sleeping bag, helmet, crampons and ice axes etc.

    • Tailored experience - whether it be a private or open event we always try to tailor the day to the group's requirements and abilities.

    • Excellent customer service - we pride ourselves on a common sense approach to cancellation.
