Total Distance 20km, 640m height gain.
Beinn Bhreac is a small Munro by usual Cairngorm standards but it does offer fine views to the hills on the other side of beautiful Glen Derry, over to the neighbouring big mass that is Beinn a’ Bhuird and down Deeside.
This is a great Munro to start off the summer hill walking season, no doubt some snow will still be on the tops but at 931m, Beinn Bhreac should be clear of snow. The surrounding hills with their snow patches offer great photo opportunities and we may possibly see some Snow Bunting, Ptarmigan, Mountain Hare and even an Golden Eagle if we’re lucky!
The walk departs from Linn o’ Dee and should take us approximately 6-8 hours. If the weather is really good and we have good underfoot conditions, we might be able to cross over and walk up Beinn a’ Chaorainn (1082m) too. This would add on an additional 9km, approximately 2-3 hours.
