Loch Etchachan is the highest loch in Scotland for it's size. Being very remote, in the middle of the Cairngorms, the Ptarmigan are often seen wandering among the boulders. These magnificent birds are truly fascinating to watch and photograph from a safe distance.

This walk takes us to the banks of the loch and we can go via a couple of routes, over the Munro Derry Cairngorm or via Glen Derry. We can also wander to look into Loch A'an too. Plenty of options to make this walk one to remember! There may be some snow on the ground high up but that shouldn't stop you dipping your toes in the loch!

All of our walks are led by an expert guide to keep you safe and provide the local knowledge.

Departs from Linn o' Dee.
